Our well-established postgraduate diplomas provide professional training and education in counselling. Applicants can choose to follow a programme in either humanistic or psychodynamic therapeutic counselling. Successful completion will provide the basis for professional accreditation with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy when combined with a period of post-qualifying supervised practice.
We also offer an MSc in Psychotherapy which provides the opportunity to deepen and broaden knowledge in this area and is intended for those who seek to make psychotherapeutic work their primary activity.
Postgraduate courses in counselling and psychotherapy
Counselling open day
Thursday 29 January 2015 from 2pm
To book a place on our open day for the postgraduate counselling courses, contact Laura Mukabaa at L.Mukabaa@brighton.ac.uk. She will put you on the mailing list so we can send you more information nearer the time.
The open day gives you an opportunity to meet the counselling team, find out more about our courses and ask us any questions you might have. Note that this is not a drop-in event, so you must book a place in order to attend.
Research and publication
The counselling and psychotherapy group also arranges an open programme of practice and research seminars which aim to address contemporary developments in counselling and psychotherapy.
Group members are engaged in research activity and publish within the field. All members are active clinicians. The group includes specialists in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, humanistic therapy, systemic psychotherapy (family therapy) and drama therapy.
