The University of Brighton has been awarded a grant by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) which is being match-funded to £4,000 by Hove-based company South Downs Solar Ltd.

South Downs Solar researches, tests and supplies solar energy systems which are individually designed for commercial and residential installation with the aim of ensuring maximum return in terms of energy and cost savings.

The grant is for the university to provide consultancy for the efficiency improvement of solar electrical energy power usage.

The project is being led by Dr Simon Walters, a senior lecturer in the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics and Zoë Osmond, Business Development Manager for the Environment.
