Give and gain by volunteering

Active Student is the university’s volunteering service. It can provide you with volunteering placements in the local community that are rewarding, safe and supported. Find out how you can register as a volunteer.

It's never too late to volunteer

Whether you're in your last year of university or your first, you can develop your employability skills, add to your CV and make new connections by volunteering in your local community.

Come chat to one of us at our regular drop-ins

Find out what happens at a drop-in and see our events calendar for when we're on your campus.

Take a look at some volunteer roles

Organisations are always looking for volunteers so keep an eye on the Vacancy Service for new roles (you can add an email notification so you hear about new volunteer roles as soon as they're live).

See a volunteer role you like?

Register with us and we'll invite you to meet with one of our Project Officers for a more in-depth chat about volunteering and what you want to gain from the experience.

Read what other volunteers say

Students often 'get the bug' for volunteering and carry on past their degree. Read more about their experiences.
