Zoë Osmond, Director
|Zoë has over 10 years' experience in developing business opportunities and facilitating innovation in environmental sectors. She has worked extensively as the interface between innovative green companies and specialist university expertise, and has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). Previously Zoë also set up and ran a design business in Barcelona which pioneered materials re-use long before it became trendy! She is fluent in Italian, Spanish and French and loves yoga and wild swimming.|
|Rachel Espinosa, Business Forum Manager|
|Rachel runs the Green Growth Platform Business Forum and has worked in the waste industry for 20 years, working as a consultant and in various roles in local government in London. She has hands on experience of work in a wide range of subject areas including waste collection and recycling service delivery, disposal contract management, procurement, contract negotiation, strategy development and implementation, policy development and securing funding. Rachel is a Chartered Waste Manager and Centre Councillor for the London & South Counties Centre of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management. Rachel lives in Brighton with her family and enjoys walking on the Downs, the beach and the many fantastic places there are to visit along the south coast.|
|Lorraine Bell, Business Support Manager|
Lorraine's supports our eligible businesses members through specialist 1-2-1 support service, helping them to realise their growth potential. Lorraine is an experienced business adviser, coach, consultant and mentor, having delivered many business support programmes, she has her own CSR consultancy business and founded two social enterprises. She is passionate about business!
|Mark Riminton, Business Growth Manager|
|Mark has been working with high growth tech businesses for over 20 years. His areas of expertise lie in marketing, investment funding and business strategy. Mark was a founder of a funding network in Cambridge and of a pioneering business coaching provider. Mark favours practical solutions to business issues and enjoys working with SMEs. Educated to BA(Hons) at the University of Wales, Mark is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. As a past school trustee, he is passionate about education & personal development. Mark plays bass in an occasional blues band and sings tenor in a busy choir. He is married and has three children.|
|Marco Picco, Business Researcher, Retrofit / Low carbon Energy|
|Through a completed PhD and subsequent years as a research fellow for various Universities, Marco has developed a strong technical expertise in the field of low carbon technologies and Energy efficiency in the built environment. His role is to provide support for innovation and R&D related to energy to local businesses by working in close relation with academics from the University, coordinating and delivering research projects. Marco has grown up in the mountains of north Italy and always had a particular interest for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability.|
|Jo Carpenter, Business Researcher, Waste Management|
Jo worked in local authority waste management for 12 years, developing new recycling schemes and influencing behaviour change. She previously studied Environmental Sciences here at Brighton. Her role is to provide support for local businesses interested in R&D projects with a waste focus as well as other topics areas, by working closely with academics and other experts. She’s built relationships with academics across many subject areas including computing, business school, media, marketing, engineering, environment, technology and pharmacy/biomedical sciences. Jo grew up in Sussex, and enjoys spending time with her young family, and also has a passion for bargain hunting!
|Robb Cunningham, Project and Communications Manager|
|Robb leads the marketing strategy and project management of the Green Growth Platform. He has several years' experience promoting and managing large scale projects in the public and higher education sectors. Robb lives with his family in a clifftop cottage powered by a solar panel and a wind turbine and enjoys cycling, furniture making and relaxing by the sea.|
|Dan Baverstock, Project Administrator|
Dan spent 8 years as the Project Administrator for the Economic and Social Engagement department until his move to the Green Growth Platform. His responsibilities include directly supporting the IT systems and team members in delivering and monitoring the project's services, event management/support and working with Robb on marketing and communications.
Dan lives in Lewes with his girlfriend, is a keen cyclist and bicycle/frame builder, DIY/carpentry enthusiast, and up cycler. He regularly involves himself with the Brighton repair café, a local social enterprise, as their bicycle mechanic.
|Angela Ritchie, Project Administrator (LoCASE)|
Angela provides high quality administrative support helping Low Carbon and Environmental Goods and Services (LCEGS) businesses across East Sussex. Angela previously assisted executive coaching and Action Learning Sets for senior management teams bringing organisational change across government departments, telecomms and not-for-profit sectors. She supported the co-ordination of university-based Climate Change Research Centre and European research projects. Her recent post-graduate studies sparked her support of international innovators meeting the challenges of land and water pollution. Angela volunteers with a global charity teaching yoga and meditation. She has recently moved to Peacehaven and is enjoying getting to know the East Sussex countryside.
