Internship grants

Green Growth graduate internships are a unique opportunity for green businesses to access talent and funding. If your business is in need of an extra pair of hands, then the scheme could help take some of the pain out of the process of recruiting.

The intern is employed for an initial six week period, acting like a trial for both employer and employee. If the six week period is successful then the expectation is that the role continues.

£950 is paid to the business towards the initial salary costs, and careers experts at the university can help businesses work up the job specification and advertise the role

Student placements

You can employ a university placement student from a range of disciplines on a short term basis.

  • a flexible way of meeting staffing needs
  • a low-risk method of recruiting the right employee
  • a great way to bring innovative and fresh ideas
  • value for money - on average the annual salary expectation is lower than for a graduate recruit.

New courses and CPD

In partnership with the Green Growth Platform, the Sussex Learning Network works closely with colleges to identify skills gaps and help to develop new courses for both young people and professionals to support the growth of the green sector.
