We are delighted that you are considering the University of Brighton for your exchange experience. On this page you will find information about living here, our courses, key dates and the application process.

Application procedure for exchange students applying for the 2014/15 academic year

Application deadlines

Nominations by partner universities:
Partner universities should nominate their chosen students by Monday 21st March 2014.

Complete application must be submitted by the following:

  • Deadline for FULL YEAR (September 2014 - June 15) is 30 APRIL 2014
  • Deadline for FIRST SEMESTER ONLY (September 2014 - February 2015) is 30 APRIL 2014
  • Deadline for SECOND SEMESTER ONLY (February - June 2015) is 15 OCTOBER 2014



After acceptance of the application form and accommodation form you will receive an official offer letter with acceptance slip that you will need to sign and return. You will be assigned a personal University of Brighton student number.

Once you have signed and returned the acceptance slip you a fully confirmed as an exchange student. You will receive details of how to enrol online for your exchange study period nearer the start of your study. This will happen over the Summer for first semester students and in January for second semester students.

If you have opted for Halls accommodation, you will receive a room contract from our Accommodation Office later in the year. Please note that accommodation is not guaranteed for exchange students starting in the second semester.

You will receive information about the International Orientation programme later in the year nearer to the start of your study period. This is usually held the weekend before the start of term for first semester students and is incorporated in the first week of term for students arriving at the beginning of the second semester.

You will also be sent further details about how to prepare for your exchange study with us and your arrival at the University of Brighton once you have received your formal offer of a place.

  • Semester 1: 29 Sept 2014 - 6 Feb 2015
  • Semester 2: 9 Feb - 12 June 2015
